GORENER HOUSE
BUILDING RENOVATION + ADDITION OF A NEW ONE
DESIGN PROJECT + MANAGEMENT
ERDEK, BALIKESIR

520 M2 + outdoor spaces
In-between a small forest of olive trees, a new structure of steel and wood is built as a main building making use of a small existing stone one.
The structure envelopes spacious voids, facing south, capturing all the movement of daylight and overlooking the sea from above the slopes of trees.
The benefit of local craftsmenship has been an advantage in terms of adapting to the geography. In situ graphite stone blocks were used to obtain the small stone blocks for building the stone walls. Indoor and outdoor spaces are somehow merged into each other, the climate being an enormous advantage.
