MOSQUE
COMPETITION PROJECT
CONCEPTUAL
KAYSERI

Living now in an era in which we no longer have to stick with the formal vocabulary of pure stone structure, this mosque extends our imagination to a unique structure where contemporary materials and building methods would help us define the new worshipping spaces where the traditional function could still find its gathering and unifying ways as a collective conduct.
This mosque proposal has the potential to sustain the material+structure bond as the traditional mosques do, even in terms of the daylight capture relating to the structural terms and limits. The structure here could either be steel, wood or even precast concrete.
The ritual function remains, where a serene courtyard still serves a public function with an added green perhaps to make it more like a small urban park.
